FRIENDLY BAY
It was reported at a meeting of the Friendly Bay Improvement Society tnat it was hoped to have the merry-go-round at present being erected at the bay ready for use during the school holidays. Mr J. M. Henderson "was in the chair. Letters were received from the Borough Council and the Harbour Board in respect to a drain at the tennis courts and it was decided to endeavour to have it repaired. „ . . „ The secretary reported that a tender had been-accepted for the top-dressing of the courts. A number of trees had been planted on the south area and stone foundations- put down at all swings. Mr A. C. McPherson, secretary fora number of years, resigned because of hts transfer to Christchurch. Mr Henderson, on behalf of the committee, made a presentation of a reading lamp in recognition of his long services. Mr A. F. Stock was appointed to fill the vacancy.
