OBITUARY
MR THOMAS BROOK P.A. WELLINGTON, June 5. The death is announced of Mr Thomas Brook, aged 75, a former Valuer-general'of New Zealand. Born at Evans Flat and educated at the Lawrence District High School, Mr Brook was in the Government se-vice as a surveyor for many years. Appointed commissioner of Crown lands for Westland in 1916, he was subsequently appointed to similar positions in Southland and Wellington. He was appointed Valuer-general in 1925, and held that office until his retirement in 1934. He is survived by his widow.
