MR FRASER’S BOSWELL
• Sir,—As a taxpayer I have always taken a keen interest in the great work done by Mr Fraser’s 'Boswell in Russia, and the full accounts he has given of his stewardship. For months I have been worried over his unusual silence; I had quite decided that the “ iron curtain ” had fallen upon him, with fatal results. Now, I learn belatedly, that my fears were groundless—he was merely enjoying a six-months’ holiday in New Zealand, recuperating from the effects of his strenuous and profitable labours, and, of course, receiving approximately £3O per week while -doing so. Now he is to leave on June 1 to continue his holiday in Russia, - Our legation in Moscow has already cost us over £IOO,OOO. When is this appalling farce to end?—l am, etc., Awake.
