ITEMS OF INTEREST
Building Permits.—During April the Oamaru Borough Council issued three building permits for new houses (£5050), six for alterations and additions to houses (£287), one for a new building and five for alterations and additions (£32,121)—a total of 17 permits, representing a value of £37,458. Abattoir Report. During April, 188 cattle, 978 sheep, 26 lambs, 40 porker pigs and 32 bacon pigs were slaughtered at the Oamaru Abattoirs.
