HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXER
DON MULLETT’S RETIREMENT P.A. WELLINGTON, May 25'. Don Mullett,, New Zealand heavy-weight boxing champion, to-day announced his retirement. “As far as I am concerned, the heavy-weight title is vacant,” he said. Moreover, because of transport difficulties, Mullett said he had declined the offer of the Natal Sporting Club to fight in Soutli Africa. “ I ascertained from the travel agents that a stay of at least six weeks in Sydney would be involved, and ever since negotiations opened the problem of how and when I could travel to the Union has been a worry,” he added. Mullett also announced his intention of relinquishing the heavy-weight crown. “ I have had my quota of come-backs, and will retire from the game,” he said.
