Electricity Consumption Satisfactory
The amount of electricity used in the Dunedin area during the past week was 0.16 per cent, below the quota. This was the first week the allocation had not been exceeded, and the Electricity Emergency Committee, which usually meets on a Tuesday afternoon, decided that there was no need for a meeting yesterday. The amount of power used in the Dunedin area on Monday was 4.64 per cent, less than the day’s allocation. “ We are very pleased indeed that the consumers have managed to make the necessary saving,” the city electrical engineer, Mr G. T. Edgar, told the Daily Times yesterday. “ This excellent response by consumers shows that the required saving can be made in Dunedin under the present arrangement. We are confident that all will keep up their good work.”
