The Rainfall.—Up to 9 a.m. on Sunday, 30 points of rain were recorded for the 24 hours by Mr F. G. Russell, Till street, and a further eight points yesterday morning. This brings the total for the month so far to 119 points. U.N. Appeal.—The town clerk, Mr J. Branthwaite, reported at noon yesterday that the contributions from the borough for the United Nations Appeal had totalled £l6lO 16s 2d.
