METEOROLOGICAL LINK
INDIA AND SOUTH AMERICA P.A. WELLINGTON, Apl. 17. India is interested in the establishment of meteorological stations in the Antarctic, said Dr A. K. Roy, India’s representative at the South-west Pacific Meteorological Conference in Wellington. India, Dr Roy said, was already applying world observations to its weather forecasting. For instance, it had been shown that when certain conditions persisted in the South American region predictable conditions would follow in India.
An important feature of long-range forecasting in India was indicating what rainfall the four-monthly monsoon would produce in various parts of that dominion.
