April 17, 24 .. .. Manawatu T.C. April 24, May 1 .. Forbury Park T.C. May 8 Oamaru T.C. May 8, 15 .. .. Auckland T.C. May 22 Wellington T.C. Engaged at Amberley Bonny Joan, who is engaged at the Amberley meeting, was raced at the Beaumont meeting at Easter and was ridden by the North Otago trainer of gallopers, N. J. Dwyer. In the Dunkeld Trot she showed a fair turn of speed to finish second to Lorene’s Todd. Dunedin-owned Trotter Norma’s Pride, who carries the colours of Mr A. Quinn, of Dunedin, is trained for him at Forbury Park by G. Brown She has had only two starts, in one oi which, the New Zealand Trotting Stakes, she finished fourth to Signal Light, Cot- * tesloe, and Dictation, after breaking in the last furlong. Norma’s Pride is by Desmond’s Pride from Norma Bingen, by Nelson Bingen from Norma Dillon, by Harold Dillon from a George M. Patchen mare. Harold Logan’s Record Harold Logan started in 93 races and won 29 of them, which, with 20 minor placings, brought his stake earnings to £11,255, which would have been doubled had he been racing to-day. He finished his track career in his fourteenth year, when he won the Free-for-all on the last day of the New Zealand Cup meeting in 1936, Tempest and Red Shadow being the place-getters and Rol L’or and Indianapolis among the also starteds. In his eleventh year he was matched in a series of races _ with the Australian Walla Walla. He was beaten in the first race but turned the tables in the second. He again met Walla Walla at Oamaru and beat him into third place, with Red Shadow separating them. An Improver Fabric Silk’s two most recent starts have produced a win and a third. At the Invercargill meeting last month the Royal Silk gelding won a division of the Trial Handicap and in his next race, the President’s Handicap at Wyndham, he ran third to Ikaroa and Keymaster. Fabric Silk is an improver who may race prominently at the Amberley meeting to-day. Quiet Morning at Forbury There was no outstanding work at Forbury Park yesterday morning, only a few local horsls being taken to the track. A ribbon alongside the rails had been harrowed and was in splendid condition but further out the going was on the hard side and a shower of rain during the next day or two would do a world of good. , Totalisator Accommodation The totalisator accommodation at Forbury Park has been extended by the provision of nine extra pay-out windows at the northern end ofr the ground, where holders of 10s tickets will receive their dividends. This will allow a greater number of windows in the main totalisator building to be used for the payment of dividends to holders of £1 tickets.
