DEDICATION TO PEACE

MAYOR’S SUGGESTION FOR HIROSHIMA CITY Rec. 0.30 a.m. TOKIO, Apl. 15. An appeal to the world to dedicate Hiroshima to the cause of peace was made to-day by the Mayor, Shizo Hamai. “We and the world learned through a searing radio-active Mast and the fires that followed what an atomic war might mean for mankind. Surely it would help the cause of peace if we could build a memorial park and hall in Hiroshima subscribed by the people of the world and dedicated to* world peace,” he said. Hamai, who himself is suffering from the effects of the atomic bomb, this week will ask the people of the world for contributions to a memorial which the city plans to erect at a spot believed to be the centre of the atomic bomb explosion.
