STRUCK BY TORNADOES
THREE AMERICAN STATES HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE N.Z.P.A.—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. NEW YORK. Mar. 27. Tornadoes and floods which struck Indiana, Illinois and Alabama yesterday caused 25 deaths and injured hundreds. -Eighteen have been posted as missing. The total casualties for 10 days now stands at 108 persons dead or missing. One tornado which swept across West and Central Indiana left 11 dead in its path, with another four listed as missing; Another tornado at Aliceville (Alabama, struck twice, killing two and injuring many. It demolished about 25 houses, tore down power lines and plunged the town in darkness. The Indiana town of Coatesville, with a population of 350, is in ruins.
