WARNING FROM PRAGUE

FORMER CONSUL-GENERAL IN SYDNEY Rec. 10 p.m. ‘ SYDNEY, Mar. 28. An anonymous letter from Prague warns the former Czech Acting Consulgeneral, Dr Karol Tokoly., that he will be arrested if he returns to Czechoslovakia. Dr Tokoly resigned his post as a protest against the Communist coup in his home country. The letter warns that 25 former colleagues of Dr Tokoly have been sent to work in coal mines and on farms, and that civil servants are being given the option of joining the Communist Party or resigning, and that conditions are much worse than under the German occupation. “Even if recalled by the Government, I will refuse to return home, ’ Dr Tokoly said. “ I served in the Czechoslovakian Army in Britain during the war, and in Communist eyes I have, become tainted by the influence of the Western world.”
