THE WEATHER
FAIR AND MILD The Meteorological Office in Wellington has issued the following weather forecast for to-day:— Situation.—Pressures are high to the north-east of New Zealand. Deep de- ( pressions are situated to the southeast of the South Island and in the south-west Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mod-erate to fresh west to north-west winds; weather fair and mild. Weather in Dunedin. —The weather was fine and cool on Saturday morning, but late in the afternoon the sky clouded and rain 6 began to fall steadily before midnight. The maximum temperature was 60.8 degrees, the minimum 54.6 degrees. Sunshine recorded for the day totalled 7hr 6min, and the wind was from the east. The rain continued till nearly mid-day yesterday, 0.82 in being recorded With the wind from the west, the sky cleared for three hours in the afternoon and the high temperature of 69.5 degrees was reached. The barometer reading at midnight was 29.62 in (1003 millibars).
