WHIPPET RACING
COMBINED CLUBS’ MEETING The Otago whippet racing clubs held a successful combined centennial meeting on Saturday afternoon. The Middle-weight Championship, with Blue Riband, was won by Mr A. Wilke’s Dainty Star. The Otago Hurdle Championship, also with Blue Riband, went to a Christchurch dog, Mr J. Wilson’s Kid Wolf. The Victory Cup, for the Open Handicap, was won convincingly by Mr J. H. Falcon's Silver, also of Christchurch. Mr J. Fitzpatrick’s Joe Cann impressively won the Captain Cargill Open Scratch. Results:— Light-weight.—Mr R. Stammer's Magic Flight 1, Mr A. Wilke’s Dainty Cann 2, ■Mr B. Thompson’s Urn-tali 3. Centennial Open (Victory Cup).—Mr J. Falcon’s Silver 1, Mr J. Fitzpatrick’s Joe Cann 2, Mr W. Timm’s Victory March 3. Nursery.—Mrs C.
