TEAM FOR OLYMPIC
AUSTRALIAN NOMINATIONS Rec. 9 p.m. SYDNEY, Mar. 5.
Sixteen athletes have been nominated for the Olympic Games by the Australian Athletic Union. In order of their selection, they are:— Shirley Strickland (West Australia), 90 Metres Hurdles, 100 and 200 Metres, and 400 Metres Relay. Joyce King (New South Wales), 100 and 200 Metres, and 400 Metres Relay. George Avery (New South Wales), Hop, Step, and Jump. John Winter (West Australia), High Jump. Joha Treloar (New South Wales). 100 and 200 Metres, and 400 Metres Relay. Morris Curotta (New South Wales), 100, 200, and 400 Metres, 400 Metres Relay. Ray Weinberg (Victoria), 120 Metres Hurdles. Bill Bruce (West Australia), Broad Jump, 400 Metres Relay. John Bartram (Victoria), 100. 200, and 400 Metres, 400 Metres Relay. Peter Mullins (New South Wales), Decathlon. Judy Canty (New South Wales), Broad Jump and reserve for 400 Metres Relay. Bill Ramsey (Victoria), 800 Metres. Les (New South Wales), Hop, Step and Jump. Betty McKinnon and June Maston (both New South Wales), 400 Metres Relay. Charlotte McGihbon (Victoria), Javelin. Discus, and Shot Putt. The secretary-treasurer of the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia, Mr A Hodsdon, said.that it depended on finance how many of the . 16 would go to the Games.
