BALCLUTHA SALE

A yarding of GOO fat sheep, consisting mainly of good-conditioned ewes, was forward at the Balclutha sale yesterday. All classes met a keen sale at advanced prices. The 5000 store sheep forward also met a good market, best lambs maintaining recent values, while medium r.nd backward lambs recovered the drop iii values experienced at the last sale. A small yarding of 20 store cattle did not attract much competition. Prices: Fat Sheep.—Best fat lambs made from 45s to 47s 6d; best fat ewes, 29s to 335. Store Sheep.—Good ewe lambs made from 30s to 34s 3d; medium, 26s 3d to 28s Gd; small, 21s; forward wether lambs, 29s to 31s 7d; good, 26s to 28s; medium and small, 21s to 24s 9d; culls, 15s to 19s. Store Cattle.—Two-year-old Black Polled steers made £lO 16s; three-year-old sleets, to £l3 15s.
