PALMERSTON SALE
There were 6000 sheep penned at the Palmerston sale yesterday, the biggest percentage of the offering being lambs. The adult sheep were mostly ewes. The continued dry weather has had a detrimental effect on sheep values and buyers were mostly disinterested. Only the top lines of' lambs attracted much competition, medium descriptions being slow of sale and passings were frequent for this class. In the ewe section, several lines were backward and lacked condition and it was noticeable that only the better types received attention, quite a percentage of the balance failing fo find buyers.
