INSPECTION OF BASES
GOVERNOR OF FALKLAND ISLANDS Rec. 10 p.m. LONDON, Mar. 1. The Governor of the Falkland Islands, Mr Miles Clifford, is leaving to-day in the cruiser Nigeria to continue his annual tour of inspection of British Antarctic bases in the Falkland Islands dependencies, says Reuter's correspondent at Port Stanley. There are seven permanently occupied British posts in the dependenciesSigny Island in the South Orkneys and Admiralty Bay and Deception Island in the South Shetlands (where Chile and the Argentine have established bases in Britisli territory), Hope Bay in Grahamsland, Port Lockroy and Argentine Island, off Grahamsland. and Stonington Island, in Marguerite Bay.
