THE WEATHER
FAIR AND MILD The Meteorological Office in Wellington has issued the following weather forecast for to-day:— Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred near the Chatham Islands covers New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day,—Mode-rate north winds, freshening at times on the coast. Some areas of morning cloud and fog, but weather otherwise fair and mild. Weather in Dunedin.—Mainly warm temperatures were recorded in Dunedin during the week-end, the maximum on Saturday being 74.0 degrees, and the maximum yesterday 69.5. The respective minimum readings were 63.5 degrees and 63.0 degrees, and the grass minimum temperatures 59.0 degrees and 60.0 degrees. There were 8 hours 48 minutes of sunshine on Saturday, while yesterday’s total was 7 hours 18 minutes. No rain fell, and a north-east wind prevailed.
