Emulous Scratched Emulous was scratched at 3 p.m. yesterday, in the Wellington Trotting Cup. Trotter’s Winnings Aerial Scott has won £9390 in stakes, the highest amount ever won in New Zealand or Australia by a straight-out trotter. Capable of Surprise Dundee Sandy raced well at Auckland and may trouble better backed candidates in the Wellington Cup. Engaged at Kaikoura Sandpiper has yet to win a race this season, but in her last two starts she has finished second. She is engaged m the Kaikoura Handicap. By Springfield Globe W. J. Doyle’s team at the Kaikoura Trotting Club’s meeting at Rangiora to-day will include Agricola, Passive, and Encircle. A beautifully-bred youngster, Agricola is by a successful sire in Springfield Globe, who took a record of 2min 33 l-o sec from Parisienne, a great race mare, who took a record of 4min 15 3-ssec. On breeding, Agricola should prove capable of winning his way to the best company. Loyal Nurse The Grattan Royal mare Loyal Nurse ran fine races each day at Epsom, for two seconds and a fourth. j easily beaten by Emulous in the Grand Final last Saturday, she reads favourably enough treated to have a reasonable chance of success in the Wellington Cup, in which she meets her Auckland conqueror on 24yds better terms over a shorter distance.
