FRANCES SPRINT PROSPECT
The Dunedin Jockey Club’s Centennial Cup meeting, which was opened in such favourable circumstances on Thursday, will be concluded to-day, and there is every indication that it will travel still further along the road to success. The fields have all' filled well and with the readjustment of the handicaps based on first day’s form, the racing should be interesting, with close finishes. A field of 13 is carded for the Otago Handicap, and with the exception of Magnaform, all the runners were started in the Centennial Cup. The distance of the race is two furlongs shorter than that of the Cup and this will probably assist some of the horses .vho did not reach a place on Thursday. weather is apparently set fair, being brilliantly fine yesterday, and the track will be in perfect order.
