CROQUET COMPETITION
NELSON PLAYER’S SUCCESS P.A. NELSON, Feb. 25. The New Zealand Croquet Association’s gold mallet competition was won by Mrs R. Gilbert (Nelson), who defeated Mrs H. Howard (Hinemoa), 26—22 in the final. There were 24 competitors from all parts of the Dominion, and those who qualified for post sectional play were Mesdames Gilbert (Nelson), V. Allan (Wellington), P. L. Jackson (Nelson), H. Howard (Hinemoa), L. L. Bellringer (New Plymouth), M. Heather (Hinemoa), J. Lockett (Wanganui) and Captain Belcher (Natal).
