TECHNICAL SCHOOL OPENING
The 1948 session of the Oamaru Technical School will open on Monday evening next, and enrolments may be made at the office of the Waitaki High School Board. Classes will be held in the following subjects;—English, history and civics, carpentry (practical), dressmaking (Tuesday evening and Friday afternoon), shorthand and typewriting, electric wiring, invalid cookery and nutrition, accountancy subjects, book-keeping (Stages I and II), mercantile law (Stage I), company law, motor engineering (theoretical and practical). Free places are available in any of the foregoing subjects until the end of the year in which students attain the age of 19 years, or on completing five years’ post-primary education. All enrolments of both free place and paying students should be completed before the opening of the term. Pupils under 16 years of age may now be enrolled.
