CHARGE OF ARSON

P.A. WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. Three men were charged in*the Wellington Magistrate’s Court to-day with wilfully setting fire to the Wellington Spiritualist Church building m Kent terrace, thereby committing arson. They were remanded on bail of £SO and a surety for £SO each until March 3 They were:—Dennis Patrick Clarence Grennell (24), a labourer; Walter Alfred Blackman (23), a labourer and pensioner; and Terence Michael Daniel Grennell (27), a ship’s rigger. Mr J Bergin, applying for bail, said the two Grennells were brothers. Both were married, and living in Wellington. Blackman was a single man, a tubercular patient on a full pension, and was receiving treatment at the hospital.
