LONG WAITING LISTS
AUSTRALIA-ENGLAND SEA PASSAGES Rec. 11 p.m. MELBOURNE, Feb. 23. Shipping companies in the EnglandAustralia passenger trade report that they cannot guarantee return bookings for at least 12 months. Australians travelling to England must be prepared to support themselves ashore for 1 his period. The Shaw Savill Line reports a list of 800 people waiting foe berths to Britain. Other lines have up to 1200 on waiting lists. Even when intending travellers work their way up the lists they can secure only one-way tickets. Once in England,' they must begin the process again.
