INVITATION TO NEW ZEALAND
Rec. 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 11. Because the French Rugby League has decided to cancel its proposed tour of Australia this winter, the Australian Board of Control has decided to invite a New Zealand team to make a six weeks’ tour from May 15 to June 19. Three test matches wil be suggested. A New Zealand Press Association message from Wellington says that the invitation for a New Zealand League team to tour Australia this season will be discussed by the New Zealand League Control Board to-morrow night. Inquiries to-day indicated a strong possibility that a team, will be sent.
