TRANSPORT OF WHEAT
RESTRICTIONS REMOVED PA. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 23. “Any public carrier will be granted a temporary licence to transport wheat direct from the farm to the flourmill lutside the terms of his licence in excess of 30 miles or, alongside the rail if rail wagons are not readily available,” said the Minister of Transport, Mr Hackett, in a statement issued this morning. , . , , , “Any farmer who wishes to transport his neighbour’s wheat and make a charge will also be granted a temporary licence where rail or pubuc road transport cannot do the job, the Minister continued. “ Road transport vehicles will be used to the maximum possible extent in the whole of the wheat-growing area for the transport of wheat to the flourmills .where rail •wagons are not available.”
