OAMARU BOROUGH MR COONEY ELECTED MAYOR SIX NEW COUNCILLORS The new Mayor of Oamaru is Mr M. F. E. Cooney, who defeated Mr A. R Tait in a close contest. Mr Cooney was a former Mayor of the town, and for the past term had been a member of the Borough Council; In the council election, Mr J. Meikle again headed the poll, and there are six new members.
