HOMING PIGEONS
RACE FROM NAPIER The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a race on Saturday from Napier for the Albert Stevenson Memorial Cup. The winning bird flew the 550 miles in 13hr 49min, at a velocity of 1165 yards per minute. Mr W. Strother liberated 82 birds from 16 lofts, with the following result for the eight places allotted to this race:—T Douglas's Barcarole (1165.8) 1, P. Rule’s Whitewings (1165.1) 2, J. Scoullar’s Francis (1156.5) 3, M, Anderson’s Lone Star (1156.4) 4, P. Rule’s Lady Zorro (1156.3) 5. J. Still’s Dahlia (1153.6) 6, P. Paterson’s Grey Ghost (1120.8) 7, J. Williamg’s Heather (1120.0) 8.
