INTERNATIONAL CONTROL OF ATOMIC ENERGY BRITISH PROFESSOR’S CLAIM Rec. 8.30 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 18. It, was idle to pretend there was a good chance in the near future or obtaining the international control ox atomic energy, said the president ot the Atomic Scientists’ Association, Professor N F. Mott, in an article. When Britain produced plutonium in significant quantities it could be stored underground for use in bombs or foi producing power. One argument foi the accumulation of atomic bombs was that it would strengthen Britain s foreign policy. Britain, if it did mo. have the bomb, renounced its position as a great Power.
