FIRES IN SOUTH DUNEDIN
The South Dunedin Fire Brigade was called to five minor outbreaks during the week-end. The first call was at 10.14 p.m. on Saturday to burning grass and pine needles at Plunket street, St. Kilda, a second visit being necessary at 10.41 a.m. yesterday. A malicious false alarm was received from Victoria road at 11.24 p.m. on Saturday, and chimney fires were extinguished on Sunday at Victoria road (10.54 p.m.) and Glasgow street (12.3 p.m.).
