AID FOR BRITAIN
Sir,—After reading Mr Bevin’s announcement that for the next six years the people of Britain will endure great privations, I should like to suggest to racing, trotting and various sports clubs that during the period stated by Mr Bevin these clubs cut out altogether elaborate entertainment, luncheons, expensive liquor, etc., save the cost, and hand the value to the Aid for Britain Fund. Let us face up to facts and help our kinsmen in their desperate need.—l am etc., Sept. 5. S.O.S.
