SPORTS CAR CLUB

A car club has recently been formed in Dunedin to provide sporting and social events for- motoring enthusiasts. A very successful opening day was held at North Taieri on Sunday. Several interesting driving tests were very well contested, there being 53 cars on the starting line. The results were as follows:Parking Test.—A. Don (Studebaker), H. P. Jef coate (Morris), 13sec; R. Hogg (Wolseley), E. J. G. Boyd (Morris), Mrs P. L. Lupp (MG, TA), 13 2-ssec; F. C. Coster (Ford V 8), N. Hogg (Wolseley), 15sec. Forward and Reverse.—Mrs P. L. Lupp (MG, TA), 2Gsec; H. P. Jefcoate (Morris), E. J. G. Boyd (Morris), F. C. Coster (Ford V 8) 27sec; E. Blake (Ford A), 28sec. Acceleration and Braking Test.—Mrs P. L. Lupp (MG, TA), R. Hogg (Wolseley), E. J. G. Boyd (Ford V 8), llsec; W. Haselmore (Oldsmobile), Mrs Twigden (Morris), 11 4-ssec; B. Hay (De Soto). F. C. Coster (Morris) 8,12 sec. A cup presented for the most points gained in all three events was won by Mrs Lupp, who -gained 8 cup points. E. J. G. Boyd was second with 7 cup points, and R. Hogg third, with 5 cup points.
