CLIMBING SCHOOL
SUPPORT FOR UNIVERSITY CLUB’S PROPOSAL Special to the Daily Times NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 19. A suggestion by the Otago University Ski Club to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, that a climbing school for amateurs should be established with the object of training sufficient young climbers so that all club parties could include experienced climbers was accorded support by the executive of the Federated Mountain'Clubs of New Zealand, said a press bulletin issued by the executive to-dav, after a meeting which was held at Strgtford Mountain House on Mt. Egmont at the week-end. This, it was stated, would help to avoid accidents, and trained men could pass on their experience to others.
