HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE
FLOOD VICTIMS IN CEYLON COLOMBO, Aug. 18. Planes are dropping food and medical supplies to people isolated by the heavy floods when the Kelani River burst its banks. More than 40 people were drowned or killed at Matale, 10P miles east of Colombo. Reports from the flooded areas indicate that the los.of life was heavy. The Kelani Rivei is expected to subside 2 feet by to morrow.
