FALL INTO HARBOUR
MAN FOUND DROWNED . P.A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 17. Apparently falling into the water between the ship and the wharf, as he was boarding the Shaw Savill liner Waiwera, a man was found drowned shortly before 1.30 a.m. to-day. He was David Hankin, aged 50, chief cook of the motor ship Waiwera. Attracted by the' sound of a splash, two members of. the crew found Hankin in the water between the ship and the wharf. A rope was secimed round him, and he was pulled to the wharf side., where artificial respiration was applied without success.
