FAIR BUT .COLD The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A complex depression is east of the North Island; an anticyclone is moving on to the Tasman Sea from the west. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Light to moderate south-west winds, rather cloudy near the coast; elsewhere, fair but cold. Further Outlook.—Fair. Weather in Dunedin.—Conditions were generally mild and pleasant in the city during the week-end. The surt shone for 8 hours 18 minutes on Saturday and for 5 hours 48 minutes yesterday. The temperature ranged between 42.4 and 55.3 degrees on Saturday and 38.4 and 50.1 degrees yesterday. The grass, minimums were 31.6 and 29.2 degfees respectively. There was no rain up to 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, but 0.05 inches were recorded yesterday morning, following a wind change from easterly to south-westerly. The barometer showed an upward tendency yesterday, the reading at midnight being 29.97 inches (1015 millibars).
