Almost 100 tons of concrete and a considerable amount of earth crashed on the footpath and spilled over the roadway when a concrete retaining wall in front of a residence in York place collapsed on Saturday morning. A telegraph pole, seen in the foreground of the photograph, was snapped off when hit by the falling concrete.
