The Court of Arbitration has set aside time for the hearing forthwith of applications for amendments to 600 awards and industrial agreements to bring them into line with the new pronouncement on standard wage rates. It is expected that large numbers of awards under which workers have had no increase since the last pronouncement in 1945, will be grouped together anti put rapidly through the court.' Many others will require investigation by the court before part, if any, of the increase will be incorporated in them. However soon the adjustments may be made, they will not become legally operative until October 1.
