Ministerial The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, ■opened the new Sea Scout hall at An'derson’s Bav on Saturday afternoon. He will be engaged in Ministerial ■business this morning, and will leave "by air this afternoon on his return to •Wellington. Mr S. A. Gibson, formerly assistant ■district public trustee at Invercargill, has arrived in Dunedin to take up a ' similar position here. His successor at Invercargill is Mr S. G. Lamb, of Auckland. „ , , Mr Tahu Hole, a former New Zealand journalist, has been appointed deputy editor of the 8.8. C. news service in succession to Mr J. L. McGregor, who has been appointed editor. Mr A. P. Ryan, who has been editor of the 8.8. C. news service since 1940, has resigned to return to' newspaper work. Passengers who left by air for the north on Saturday were Mr and Mrs A. E. Russell, Miss J. Clark, Miss M. Laing, Mrs D. Johnston, Miss J. R. ‘.Hutchison, Mr L. Jemmett, Miss J. Staub, Mr R. L. Stewart (Wellington), Miss M. A. Menzies, Mrs I, Aitken, Miss J. Davidson, Mr L. Armishaw (Auckland). ,
