APPLICATIONS for admission to Training College will be received up till MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 1947. DIVISION A. Two-years’ course, for which the minimum educational qualification is a Pass in the School Certificate Examination. Candidates sitting School Certificate or University Entrance this year are invited to apply, but preference will be given to those who already hold the required qualification and who in. other respects are suitable. Applications are also invited from servicemen and ex-servicemen (and women) who have had three years’ good secondary education or who are sitting University Entrance or School Certificate this year. DIVISION C. One-year course at Auckland Trainihg College, for which the academic qualification is a University degree. Candidates completing degree this year may apply in anticipation. SPECIAL COURSE IN HOMECRAFTS. Except in the case of servicewomen, the qualifications for admission to this Special Course, and the allowances payable, are exactly the same as for Training College students. The first year of the course will be spent at the Dunedin Training College; during the second year the student will be attached to a post-primary school (usually a teclynical school). Applicants must be not less than 17 year's of age on February 29, 1948. The salaries of teachers have been substantially improved, and as it is intended to reduce the size of classes as soon as more teachers are available, there are good prospects for young people entering the teaching prfafession. Liberal bursaries (minimum £l2O p.a.) are payable to students while in training. Forms of application, containing conditions of appointment, are now obtainable at the Education Office, Moray place, Dunedin.
