SHIPMENTS FROM ABROAD IMPROVED OUTLOOK IN AUCKLAND I P.A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 15. An improved outlook for the relief of shortages of ,faw 5 materials in the metal industries is reported by the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association. Shipments of metals have • arrived fat Auckland by the vessels Salamaua and Kurow, although neither has brought pig iron. The vessel Suva, due here at the end of the month, will bring metal supplies as will the Fort Coulonge, which will bring a substantial shipment of pig iron. A quantity of pig iron will be brought from South Australia by the vessel Glen Park. It is expected that the supplies will be sufficient for Auckland users for six months at least. It is understood that the Government will continue to endeavour to obtain substantial quantities to remove the possibility of temporary dislocations owing to lack of material. .
