COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL
COVERING TWO WEEKS is The forty-sixth annual festival of musical and elocutionary competitions will be commenced on August 25, and for two weeks His Majesty’s Theatre and several other halls in the city will be occupied with the presentation and judging of the various sections. Entries this year are about the 3000 mark, which is slightly below last year’s figure. The judges for the various sections will be as follows: Elocution, Mrs Enid Frye, L.T.C.L. (Elec.), of Christchurch, in association with Mrs Neale, of Christchurch. Instrumental, Mr Charles Martin, Mus. Bac., L.R.A.M., L. (London), of Invercargill. Vocal, Mr Stanley Oliver, of Wellington, in association 'with Mr Charles Martin and Mr C. L. Martin, Mus. Bac., M. A.T.C.L., of Tai Tapu. Dancing, Miss Bobbie Scott, A.R.A.D. (London), of Gisborne.
