RESTORATION OF TRADE
FORMER ENEMY NATIONS AMERICAN LOANS UNDER DISCUSSION WASHINGTON. Rec. 9.30 p.m. Aug. 15. An Export and Import Bank official disclosed that a loan of 20,000,000 dollars to finance Japanese purchases of American cotton and thereby help to re-establish Japan’s cotton industry is under general discussion by financial officials, in Washington. A similar loan is pending for Germany. It was suggested that the Export and Import Bank would act as underwriter, and private investors would be invited to participate.
