BOBBY CALVES
NEW REGULATIONS P a WELLINGTON, Aug. 14. The Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations, gazetted to-night, extend the term “ bobby calf ” to include all calves that have a live weight of less than 1001 b. They provide that annual meetings in the South Island may now be held between March 31 and July 31 and also stipulate that in future cash cannot be paid at the works for calves by a processor or vendor, but must be sent to the seller through the P °Several clauses are included to prevent cruelty to bobby calves, and it is also stipulated that suitable pens shall be provided for calves while awaiting transport.
