Hospital Raided By Military Police
Rec 10.45 p.m. BATAVIA, Aug. 5. A few hours after the cease fire in Indonesia to-day, Dutch military fioiice raided the Batavia Public Hospital—the last of the city’s public utilities in Republican hands. They temporarily detained the hospital’s 50 Indonesian doctors in the building for interrogation. According to Republican circles, the doctors were asked a fortnight ago to cooperate with the Dutch authorities, but declined. The Dutch inquiries are said to be connected with the disappearance of cholera culture from the Eykman Institute, one of the research laboratories connected with the hospital.
