Stock Exchange Fall Continues
LONDON, Aug. 1. The past week for the Stock Exchange has been the worst since before the war. says Reuter. The fall continued throughout the week until mid-day to-day, when the bears decided to close their commitments before the bank holiday. Gilt-edged stock yesterday declined 2fJ points—equivalent to two years’ net income lost by holders of old. consols after allowing for deduction of the full standard rate of income tax.
