YOUNG FARMERS
VISIT BY PARTY FROM TARANAKI WELCOME AT DUNEDIN Sixty members of Young Farmers Clubs in North Taranaki are at present making a tour of inspection of Otago and Southland. This is the largest touring party of its kind that has ever left Taranaki and the visit follows the tour of Taranaki made last year by Y.F.C. members from Otago and Southland. The visitors are being billited in various parts of the province, including Oamaru, Palmerston, Dunback, and the Taieri, as well as m districts south of the Taieri. A welcome was extended to members of the party on their arrival in Dunedin by Mr E. Rabbidge, chairman of the Otago-Southland Provincial Y.F.C. Council, and by Mr S. Sim, Otago provincial president of Federated Farmers. The leader of the party, Mr J. Mclntyre, of Waitui, chairman of the North Taranaki District Committee, replied, as also did Mr J. Lynch, of the Department of Agriculture at New Plymouth, who is the district .committee secretary. A descriptive address on Otago and Southland, with particular reference to the districts that members of the party would not be able to see for themselves, was given by Mr A. G. Elliott, fields superintendent of the Department of Agriculture at Dunedin.
