READING A METER
For the benefit of consumers who are not certain how to read an electricity meter, a diagram of dials to be found on meters in this city is reproduced herewith. The reading is made from left to right. In this case the first d|al shows that the needle has not quite
reached nine, so that me nisi number to be written is eight, the number of thousands of units. The next arrow stands just before the figure six, so that the next number is five The arrow in the third dial from the left stands between two and three, so that the reading is two. and the final arrow is between one and two. and the number taken is one. Therefore, the complete reading is 8521. Some consumers will find two or more sets of dials on their meters, and each set should be read independently.
