J. HAIG OUT OF ACTION

J. Haig, the former All Black, who is now playing Rugby League for Prebbleton, was not available for the Canterbury team to meet the West Coast owing to an attack of pleurisy. Haig, who is making a good recovery, was present at the Rugby trial in Dunedin on Monday, and will probably be playing at half-back for Prebbleton on Saturday week. It was feared that Haig’s illness would upset his chance of selection in the team to visit England, but he will be available for selection in the Canterbury team' for the return match against West Coast.
